'The Ultimate Tradie', Putting the JAC T9 Through It's Paces

When JAC set out to launch the new T9 ute into the New Zealand market, they didn’t want a glossy showroom fantasy. They wanted grit, truth, and a proper Kiwi test drive so they handed the keys to 'The Ultimate Tradie' New Zealand’s answer to The Stig, and let him loose.

Led by producer–director Vicki Leopold, the campaign put the T9 through real-world challenges to prove exactly what it’s made of. To capture it all, cinematographer Stephen Langdon brought his signature eye to both motion and stills.

The project brought together a seriously talented crew across agencies and disciplines. The were crafted by the brilliant word-wrangler Richard Lowesby, Creative Director and founder of Mechanic. Lisa Gwynne from PistolShrimp partnered with the team at Mechanic Group, blending creativity and strategy into a tight, collaborative process.
